Asking About Treatment
Your treatment choice is a personal one. Treatment should be right for you and your partner as a couple.
Treatment options
The most common way to treat ED (erectile dysfunction) is with oral medicines (tablets) called PDE-5 inhibitors. There are three different oral prescription ED medicines, and CIALIS is one of them. Taken before sexual activity begins, these medicines help a man get an erection when he is sexually stimulated.
If for some reason an oral prescription ED medicine is not a good treatment option for you, your doctor will explain other treatments that are available.
Ask the right questions to find the right treatment
If your doctor decides that an ED medicine is the right treatment for you, here are some questions you may want to ask. Asking these questions can help you find the ED medicine that has the features that are most important to you.- How does this ED medicine compare with other ED medicines?
- How quickly does this medicine start to work?
- After I take this medicine, how soon do I need to have sexual activity?
- Is there an ED medicine that works all the time?
- After sexual activity is over, will my erection go away?
- Are there any food restrictions with this medicine?
- What are the possible side effects?
- Could this medicine interact with other medicines I take?
- If I have diabetes (or another health condition), will this medicine still work to help my ED?
Why CIALIS might be right for you
CIALIS has benefits that may matter a lot to you and your partner. CIALIS for daily use allows you to be ready any time the moment is right. When taken as needed, 36-hour CIALIS is the only prescription ED tablet clinically proven to both work fast — as quickly as 30 minutes in some men — and last long, for up to 36 hours.* With CIALIS, you and your partner can take time and choose when the moment is right.
You can take CIALIS without worrying about what or when you eat. You don't need to plan around meals or avoid high-fat foods. The absorption of CIALIS is not affected by foods. If these things are important to you, ask your doctor if CIALIS is the right ED treatment for you.
If you have already tried a different ED treatment and it didn't work as well as you had hoped it would, you might want to consider trying CIALIS.
*Individual results may vary. In clinical trials, when taken as needed,
36-hour CIALIS was shown to improve, up to 36 hours after dosing,
the ability of men with ED to have a single successful intercourse
attempt. 36-hour CIALIS has not been studied for multiple sexual attempts per dose.
