Now That You've Made Up Your Mind
Deciding to talk with your doctor about ED (erectile dysfunction) is not easy. Once you make up your mind to do it, these steps can help.
| Step 1: | Make an appointment. You can tell the receptionist the appointment is for "a men's health visit." Or, if you're not comfortable doing it, you can ask your partner to make the appointment for you. |
| Step 2: | Take the "Could It Be ED?" Quiz. Print the completed quiz and bring it to the doctor visit with you. It can help your doctor determine if you have ED and how ED may be affecting you. |
| Step 3: |
Write down all the medicines you currently take and bring the list to your doctor visit. The list should include all:
|
The doctor needs this information for two important reasons. A medicine you take could be causing ED as a side effect. CIALIS and other medicines may affect each other. Always check with your healthcare provider before starting or stopping any medicines. Especially tell your healthcare provider if you take any of the following*:
- Medicines called nitrates
- Medicines called alpha-blockers. These include Hytrin® (terazosin HCl), Flomax® (tamsulosin HCl), Cardura® (doxazosin mesylate), Minipress® (prazosin HCl), or Uroxatral® (alfuzosin HCl). Alpha-blockers are sometimes prescribed for prostate problems or high blood pressure. If CIALIS is taken with certain alpha-blockers, your blood pressure could suddenly drop. You could get dizzy or faint
- Other medicines to treat high blood pressure (hypertension)
- Medicines called HIV protease inhibitors, such as ritonavir (Norvir®, Kaletra®)
- Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
- Itraconazole (Sporanox®)
- Erythromycin
- Other medicines or treatments for ED
- CIALIS is also marketed as ADCIRCA (tadalafil) for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension. Do not take both CIALIS and ADCIRCA. Do not take REVATIO® (sildenafil) with CIALIS
